This lovely pale blue zircon glistens effortlessly in her 10 claw 9ct yellow gold setting. The second most natural sparkly stone in the natural world after diamond, the oval zircon catches the light at every turn. The stone measures approximately 8.0mm x 5.95mm which is approximately 1.8 - 2cts (based on the measurements and the specific gravity for zircon). The 10 claw setting is a clever choice for a stone that is only a 7 on the Mohs scale, so the girdle is good condition, but there are few flea bites to the top facets.
Made in London at some point since 1975, this beauty shows that although they were in their heyday in the 1930s, people who know stones will still pick this amazing natural stone for a great blue ring. The saddest bit is her downfall was not her own - but in the creation of cubic zirconia (which is not remotely related) it lost fashion due to the similarity of the name. Definitely the most under appreciated of all stones, we are determined to bring back the blue zircon.
